What is BRUTUS?
BRUTUS is a hair and beard color system for men. It uses a water-activated powder you mix yourself to blend greys or deliver full coverage. No salon visit, no overdone look. Just strong, natural-looking color, on your schedule.
What makes BRUTUS different?
BRUTUS is a powder you mix with water. It is made with amla, henna, and other botanicals, and it is cruelty free, vegan, and free of ammonia, PPD, and added fragrance. You mix the powder with water, that is it.
What about sensitive skin and patch testing?
Everyone's skin is different, and hair and beard color can cause a reaction in some people. We strongly recommend a patch test 48 hours before your first application. Apply a small amount of mixed product behind your ear or on your inner arm and wait 48 hours to check for any reaction. If you have reacted to hair dye before or have sensitive skin, talk to your doctor before use.
HOW TO USE
How do I use BRUTUS?
It is a simple 4-step process:
1. MIX. Combine one 5 g packet with 20 g (approx 4 tsp) of warm water. Stir until smooth.
2. APPLY. Brush or rub the mixture onto clean, dry hair or beard. Target greys, roots, or apply all over. Use the included sponge for stubble-length hair.
3. RINSE. Rinse thoroughly, then shampoo and condition. Color begins to reveal its tone as it dries.
4. DEEPEN. Color will continue to develop naturally over 24 hours, leaving hair and beard looking fuller, richer, and naturally blended.
How long do I leave it on?
It depends on the look you want. 10 minutes gives you a light grey blend. 20 minutes gives a deeper blend. 30 minutes or more delivers full coverage. Start with less time. You can always go longer next time.
Can I use BRUTUS on my beard?
Absolutely. BRUTUS is designed for both hair and beard. Use the applicator brush for longer beards and the included sponge for stubble-length application.
Can I use it on eyebrows or eyelashes?
No. BRUTUS is for hair and beard only. Do not use on eyebrows, eyelashes, or any area near the eyes.
What comes in the kit?
Each kit includes up to 4 applications of powder-based color (four 5 g packets), reusable gloves, an applicator brush, a sponge for stubble application and stain remover, and an instruction card.
CHOOSING YOUR COLOR
How do I pick the right shade?
We offer four shades: Natural Black, Dark Brown, Medium Brown, and Light Brown. Choose the shade closest to your natural hair color. If you are between two shades, go lighter. You can always leave it on longer for a deeper result. Remember, the color develops over 24 hours, so it will look slightly lighter right after rinsing than the final result.
What if I pick the wrong color?
BRUTUS color gradually fades with washing over 2 to 4 months. If you picked a shade that is too dark, it will lighten naturally. If it is too light, try a longer application time or go one shade darker next time. Contact us at support@brutusgrooming.com and we will help you figure out the right shade.
Will it look natural?
Yes. BRUTUS works with your natural shade, not against it. BRUTUS blends with your existing color for a natural look. No helmet head, no shoe polish effect. The color develops gradually over 24 hours, which means it settles into a very natural tone.
RESULTS AND LONGEVITY
How long does the color last?
Results typically last 2 to 4 months depending on how often you wash your hair and your hair type. The color fades gradually and naturally. No abrupt grow-out line.
When will I see the final color?
You will see initial results immediately after rinsing, but the color continues to develop and deepen over the next 24 hours. The tone you see the next day is the true result.
Will it stain my skin?
Minor staining can happen on the skin around your hairline or ears during application. Use the included stain remover sponge to wipe away any excess. Wearing the included gloves during application prevents staining on your hands. Any skin staining typically fades within a day or two.

Is BRUTUS vegan and cruelty free?
Yes. BRUTUS is cruelty free and vegan. We do not test on animals and our formula contains no animal-derived ingredients.
Does BRUTUS contain PPD?
No. BRUTUS does not contain PPD (p-Phenylenediamine) or ammonia.
SHIPPING AND ORDERS
How much does shipping cost?
Orders over $25 ship free within the continental United States. Orders under $25 ship for a flat rate of $5.50 via USPS.
How long does shipping take?
Most orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days and delivered within 3 to 7 business days. Orders placed before 2:00 PM EST on business days are typically processed the same day.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to many countries worldwide. International shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location, package weight, and the carrier options available to you. We ship via USPS, DHL Express, FedEx, and DHL eCommerce depending on your destination. Duties and taxes are included in the price displayed at checkout for international orders, so there are no surprise fees on delivery.
RETURNS AND SUPPORT
What is your return policy?
Unopened products can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Opened products cannot be physically returned, but we will issue store credit for the full product value within 30 days of delivery. Damaged or defective items get a free replacement.
